The 2025 Fall Season marked a powerful milestone for the Bridge Play Foundation—one that will be remembered as one of the most meaningful and rewarding projects to date.
For the first time ever, we launched a women’s 18+ draft-style modified/chata softball league, and the response was everything we hoped for and more. The women asked—and we delivered.
With over 65 players and 4 coaches, teams were carefully drafted to create balance and competitiveness across the board. But what unfolded throughout the season went far beyond wins and losses.
It became a movement.
Friday Nights Became “Ladies Night”
From the very first pitch, something felt different.
Friday nights turned into Ladies Night—a space where women showed up not just to play, but to compete, connect, and be seen. The energy was undeniable. Players looked forward to it all week, coaches came ready, and fans showed up from everywhere to support.
The field became more than a field—it became a place where community was built in real time.
Drafted Teams, Real Connections
This was a draft league—meaning most players didn’t choose their teams.
They were placed into them.
Women from different boroughs, different cultures, different levels of experience—some who had never met, and some who didn’t even speak the same language—were suddenly teammates.
And still… it worked.
In fact, it was beautiful.
One of the most powerful moments throughout the season wasn’t a home run or a big play—it was seeing players standing together, using translation apps, laughing, figuring it out, and making the effort to communicate.
That’s what stood out.
Not just playing together—but growing into a team together.
That’s Bridge Play.
When Competition Meets Heart
On the field, the level of competition was undeniable.
Each team brought something different, and every week felt like a battle. By the time playoffs arrived, there were no clear favorites—just four teams ready to fight for it.
And they did.
Every single playoff series went to a Game 3 in a best-of-three format.
Forza (1) vs. Nemeses (4)
Forza had controlled the regular season, sitting at the top almost the entire time. But Nemeses flipped the script. A team that struggled to find consistency all season found their rhythm when it mattered most—loud and clear. In a huge upset, Nemeses took down the #1 seed and earned their spot in the championship.
Athenas (2) vs. Sirens (3)
This matchup was pure intensity from start to finish. These teams had been going at it all season, putting up high-scoring, double-digit games every time they met. The playoff series was no different—tight, unpredictable, and emotional. In Game 3, Athenas capitalized on a key strategic moment that shifted everything. A hard-fought win sent them to the finals.
Every inning mattered. Every game felt like everything was on the line.
The Championship—Paused, Not Finished
The final matchup brought together two teams that peaked at the right time:
Athenas vs. Nemeses.
Athenas came out strong, taking Game 1 and putting themselves in position to close it out. But just as the championship story was building, the weather stepped in.
Game 2—and a potential Game 3—were postponed.
For now, the ending is still unwritten.

More Than a Season
This season proved something we’ve always believed at Bridge Play:
When you create space, people show up.
When you give opportunity, community grows.
And when women are given a platform to compete—they don’t just participate… they elevate the game.
This wasn’t just a league. This was connection. This was growth. This was representation.
This was Bridge Play in its purest form.\And if this first season taught us anything, it’s this—
We’re just getting started. 💜
