A Summer of Softball, Smiles & New Skills at Bridge Play Kids
Another successful summer is in the books for the Bridge Play Kids Summer Youth Clinic!
This summer, we were excited to welcome both new and returning participants, ages 8–17, for another season of learning, playing, and having fun on the field. For some of our kids, baseball and softball were already familiar. For others, this was their first opportunity to pick up a glove, swing a bat, or learn the fundamentals of the game.
And that is exactly what Bridge Play Kids is all about—creating opportunities for young people to get outside, stay active, try something new, and enjoy sports in a welcoming environment.
Throughout the summer, our participants worked on the fundamentals of baseball and softball, including hitting, throwing, catching, fielding, base running, and teamwork. But beyond developing their skills, we loved watching new friendships form, confidence grow, and kids become more comfortable on the field week after week.

Kids vs. Parents!
Of course, we couldn't end the summer without having a little fun!
For our final clinic, we invited the parents to leave the sidelines and step onto the field for a Kids vs. Parents game.
We called it a “friendly” game…but apparently the kids had other plans!
They were ready to show their parents everything they had learned throughout the summer, and there was plenty of friendly competition, laughter, and excitement on both sides. We especially want to thank our parents for being such great sports—and for maybe not hustling too hard when it came time to get the kids out at the bases!
It was the perfect way to close out the program because Bridge Play Kids isn't only about the children we serve. We want our programs to create experiences that families can enjoy together and memories that extend beyond the playing field.
Partnership Makes It Possible
We extend a huge thank you to Mel and our partners at NAICA for helping make this summer possible.
Partnerships like these allow Bridge Play Foundation to continue providing accessible youth sports opportunities to families in our community. When organizations come together with a shared commitment to our young people, we can expose children to new experiences and give them a safe and positive place to play, learn, and grow.
Most importantly, we are grateful to every parent who trusted us with their child and every young athlete who showed up ready to learn and have fun.
To all of our Bridge Play Kids: we are proud of you!

Thank you for another amazing summer. We can't wait to see everyone back on the field for the next Bridge Play Kids program.
Play for Fun. Play for Change.
